Hello CSTF community,
We’re seeking an experienced Software Development Lead to guide the technical development of Wild Cloud, our flagship reference implementation for accessible, self-hosted infrastructure built on Kubernetes and open-source principles.
What we’re looking for:
A technical leader who understands both the complexity of distributed systems and the importance of making powerful technology accessible to communities. You’ll need to combine deep Kubernetes expertise with our mission of democratizing infrastructure ownership.
Key qualifications we need:

5+ years of software development with demonstrated technical leadership

Strong experience with Kubernetes architecture, deployment, and cluster management

Proven experience leading open-source projects and managing community contributions

Ability to design systems that balance usability with technical depth

Deep commitment to digital self-determination and open-source principles
What you’d be doing:
You’ll lead Wild Cloud’s technical architecture, develop reference application stacks, foster a healthy development community, create comprehensive documentation, and ensure the platform works reliably across diverse deployment environments. You’ll also coordinate with upstream open-source projects and maintain good community relationships.
This is currently a volunteer leadership position that may transition to paid as the project grows.
